Get Fit A Thon Update week 3
Monday morning weigh in...266.6
I was a bit discouraged last Monday after the scale showed that I had only lost 1 pound through the previous week. What was worse was that I had actually been down to 266 a few days before I weighed in at 267.2. I had a similar experience this week, as I was down to 263.0 (10.6 pound lost!) on Wednesday, but my weight today is 266.6. I may begin posting my mid-week weight as well, so the more accurate weight-loss picture can emerge. I’m confident that the diet and exercise regimen I’m on is working!
If you have the time, post a comment! I could use the encouragement, especially on Monday mornings!

Caed's First T Ball Game
Caed had his first T ball game today. It was a lot of fun. His first time at bat he hit it over the coach's head and then ran all the bases...nevermind the fact that his team members ahead of him were still standing on 2nd and third! They only let each kid run one base at a time so he had to go back to first! Here are a few pictures!

Loving Homosexuals Part 2
I wasn’t able to attend Chad Thompson’s talk because of a CCO staff seminar in the Pittsburgh area during the time he was in town. However, from the reports of several students, it was well attended. You can imagine the excitement of the 10-14 students who regularly attend the Arcadia Christian Fellowship (ACF) meetings when almost 50 students came to hear Chad speak. In fact, one professor brought her entire Pluralism class!
Chad brought a message of compassion and love. His encouragement to the Church related to how we go to such great lengths to convey our biblical position of homosexuality being wrong that we diminish the message of love in the process. The Christian community (particularly on college campuses, where the urgency of declaring sides often trumps the art of diplomacy) has disproportionately emphasized “hating the sin” over “love the sinner”.
Our students were excited about Chad’s talk, as well as some one-on-one discussions that took place afterwards. They were encouraged by the event and hopeful that new dialog will begin as a result.

Spring Fling
This afternoon Arcadia held its annual Spring Fling. It was an outdoor event with food, inflatables, face painting, and LOTS of other things. It was a BEAUTIFUL afternoon so we made it a family event! Here are a couple pics of the kids with their faces painted.
