Pajama Party!

Thank you friends for your prayers friday night! They were answered in a way that I could never ask or imagine!

There were 20 girls that came for all or part of the night, including a couple that I had never met!

The night started with a fun game of Catchphrase...it is always a good ice breaker! Then we had a bit of a workout! I know this seems strange but one of the girls brought a Bollywoord workout DVD and we all tried it out. It was a lot of fun and even more laughs!

After a chocolate break we sat down for a short video.
(Hint-have a tissue ready!)

The theme of the night was the importance of authenticity in our community. This video highlights the importance of "running" with others. The concept of authenticity and community is something that this generation desperately wants but has a hard time finding.

The first part of the night we talked about the importance of authenticity. It was a thought provoking discussion. Later on in the night we had the opportunity to practice what we preached! By this time several people left to got back to their rooms to sleep so it was a smaller crowd. A couple girls shared their struggles and we had the privilege of lifting them up to our Father in prayer. One asked the simple and yet difficult question "How do I trust the Lord"? It was a precious time.

We wound up the night with one of our favortie movies... EVER AFTER! Bed time was about 3:15!

My favorite part of the sleepover is always breakfast the next morning. It was just a fun time of fellowship over coffee and an AMAZING breakfast casserole (Thanks Tammy!).

Thank you again for your prayers. PJ party night was a great time for the ladies of ACF to connect as we "run" together.

It's that time again!

Friday night is our semiannual ACF girls Pajama Party! Greg is taking the kids to my parent's house just to avoid all the estrogen that will be around that night!

Seriously, this was a HUGE hit last semester and we are praying for an even better experience this weekend. Please pray for us as we talk about what it means to be authentic in today's world.

Pre-K Counts

I have been researching options for Abigail's school next year. She misses the cut off date for Kindergarten by 8 days! We have several options. One is for her to continue at her current preschool at a local church nursery school.

Option # 2 is to home school. PA has a good number of Virtual Charter schools that provide all of your homeschool material for free, including a computer.

Option # 3 is program called Pre-K Counts that allows some 3-4 year olds go to local preschools for free.

Today Abigail and I checked out a couple of preschools in the area. We had a great time and she made some friends while I was grilling our tour guides.

We have a lot of decisions we need to make soon. Please pray that the Lord would guide our decison making process.

A Day in the Life

We have had a fun day today so I thought I would share it with you!

After breakfast Abby organized a dance class for all of her stuffed animals. She allowed Cole to watch. :)

Later on Abby and I made some yummy S'mores Brownies for the ACF afterparty tonight!

Then after Caed got home from school we had an earthworm race on the kitchen table!

I need to go fix dinner now, but I just wanted to share. :)

Basketball!

Caed had his first basketball game on Saturday. He is playing in an Upward Church League. He is on a team with 2-3 graders. Some of them had played before but for most it was their first game ever.

It was a lot of fun! Caed did well. He only went to the wrong goal once!:) He has the whole guarding thing down, but he does that on both ends of the court! We will have to work on offense a bit! Here is a picture of them right before the game started. They lined up to establish who was guarding who. Caed is on the black team.

Other way buddy! The ref helped Caed figure out which way to go!

Caed in action.

Here is a short video of Caed playing defense.

Seriously...

What kind of world are we raising our kids in? :)

Caed has a report to do this week on a famous woman. So he picks TAYLOR SWIFT. WHAT?

Then he goes to the computer to do his research...on WIKIPEDIA! Because we all know this is the source of all knowledge!:)

Don't worry we are going to find someone else, but I guess I just wanted to comment on the state of the average kid's mind!

Snow Day!

Yesterday we had the biggest snow storm since we have lived up north! We got 7+ inches! The kids had a blast playing in it. Here are a few pics. These are some of the other kids that live in our complex.
